A man was taken into custody in California for allegedly killing a fellow driver in a drunk driving accident. The man was also injured in the 5:30 a.m. accident, which involved two motor vehicles. Police arrested the man on a charge of driving under the influence (DUI) in connection with the wreck. 

Events leading up to the wreck 

The recent California crash took place on Interstate 805. Police said a 21-year-old man was driving north on the highway and crashed into the back of a sport utility vehicle. The man was allegedly speeding at the time of the crash. 

The 58-year-old man driving the sport utility vehicle was killed in the collision. Meanwhile, the man driving the car suffered injuries and was transported to a medical center. Police then took him into custody for reportedly driving while intoxicated.
